On an ordinary day in February 1984, a young father of three lost his life in a horrific car accident. Traveling in the car were two of his young children. Miraculously, both survived the impact. For daughter Estee Lee, her life changed forever. Estee suffered severe spinal injuries in the accident and had to accept the fact that she was to be bound to a wheelchair for the rest of her life. She was only 5.
Estee Lee is shake & stir’s Artistic Director Nelle Lee’s sister and sadly, her story is not unique. Road accidents are the leading cause of death among young people today. On Impact presents a number of true stories and highlights the importance of road responsibility and the effects one persons decision can have on many. This show could be the most important piece of theatre your students will ever see.
