shake & stir, one of Australia’s leading youth theatre companies is holding general auditions for it’s 2012 in-school touring season.

shake & stir provides a dynamic, fast paced and challenging professional theatre environment and this position is a fantastic opportunity for talented young actors seeking a rewarding career in the performing arts.

shake & stir is seeking male and female actors with a keen interest in Shakespeare and performing for young people.

Auditions will be used to cast January – November 2012 in-schools touring.

Experience/relevant actor training is highly desired and an infectious enthusiasm for the live arts is essential.

If you have auditioned for shake & stir in the last 12 months there is no need to apply for another audition, you will automatically be considered.

Applicants need to prepare one Shakespeare piece (1 min - own choice) and a contemporary Australian monologue (1 min – own choice). One piece should be comic, the other should show dramatic range. Pieces should suit the applicant’s age and skills. shake & stir theatre co desires actors with fantastic physicality, great vocal skills and who are highly presentable.

All applicants must be 18+ years old and possess a current QLD blue card and a QLD drivers licence with a good driving history.

Auditions will be held on FRIDAY 30 September 2011, individual times TBC.
